What Does It Mean To Love The Church
Loving church is the second step in our LC3 mission. Once you have begun your relationship with Christ we begin to learn about Relevant and how we can give back to our church community. After all, we couldn’t exist without our attenders and volunteers. Once we love Christ and the church, it sets us up for one of our most vital missions, loving community. And that is our best mechanism for teaching others to love Christ, and then the cycle starts again. But before we get to community, let’s examine how to love church.
Discover Relevant is our membership class that we offer the last Sunday of every month. It is approximately an hour and a half long. We provide lunch and do a thorough overview of our beliefs, how we started, and where we are going. It is video based but includes a ton of interaction with current staff and leadership, and questions are absolutely encouraged. To sign up for Discover Relevant click here.
Another way that we love the church is through giving our tithes and offerings. Someone who loves Christ and The Church is someone who understands that it is our privilege to give. Our pastor often says, "We don't want something from you, we want something FOR you." When you give to a church, you are funding all of the life change that happens at the building, and also all of the ministry that happens in our community. Simply put, we could not exist with all of us giving to The Church. If you'd like to give to Relevant, click here.
When Relevant started in 2004, we knew that it would take the efforts of many committed volunteers to help us last. Through God’s grace, and the efforts of many, we have grown and thrived over the years. To this day, serving at our church is one of our core values. We offer everyone the opportunity to join a ministry team and give back the the Relevant community. On a given Sunday, we need over 100 volunteers to make us run properly. And before you read any further, just know how thankful we are that people choose to love their church in such a tangible way. If you’d like to get involved, you can sign up for a Discover Relevant class and you’ll have an opportunity to learn more about the positions available. Or, if you are ready to jump, sign up for the position you’re interested in.
